Paul's Letter to the Church in Colassae

While the Apostle Paul didn’t start the church in Colossae (a smaller town in Asia Minor), and though he had never even met them in person, nevertheless He loved the Christians there like sisters and brothers. Writing from prison after a friend’s report about them, Paul’s letter (which we now call “Colossians”) urged them to resist the cultural pressures that would draw them away from Jesus and to recommit themselves to their discipleship. The major theme of the letter is the incredible supremacy of Christ over everything else and the difference it makes when it is grasped in our deepest places. We will spend 7 weeks exploring this ancient letter, letting let the Spirit of God challenge us through it in our day just as He did for them in theirs.
