A Memorial to our Grief

The anonymously written book of Lamentations is a collection of 5 poems lamenting grief, suffering, and shame that came with the destruction of Jerusalem at the hands of the Babylonians. Without any clear resolution, it is an odd book in the Bible. Even still, it serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of being honest to God in the midst of our emotional sufferings and dignifies the very real sorrows all people eventually encounter.
