The Offering of a Living Sacrifice
We conclude our series considering a remaining major theme relating to worship across the Bible: the theme of sacrifice. As Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the temple sacrificial system Himself, he did so as an act of love, mercy, and grace. As one theologian put it, "In the New Testament religion is grace, and ethics is gratitude." In view of God's mercy and grace, we are now to offer our whole selves as *living* sacrifices, driven not by obligation or performance, but by gratitude.
