The Death of the Son of God

The climax of Mark's gospel arrives with the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross. In this passage we see the unthinkable agony of Jesus being forsaken by his Father, the meaning of his death in the tearing of the temple veil, and the final truth that Mark has been building toward: "Truly this man was the Son of God!"
