The Cross, The Spirit, & The End of Death

We will spend the remainder of Lent 2024 into Resurrection Sunday with a consideration of Romans chapter 8, which is widely considered one of the most gospel-rich, beautiful, and hopeful chapters in the entire Bible. But it’s beauty and hope does not come at the expense of realism. It is an honest exploration of some of the harshest realities of human nature alongside the good news of Jesus and how He and His Holy Spirit answer those realities. In these verses we will consider the grace of God over condemnation, the Spirit of God over our sin-stained flesh, our new family over slavery, our coming glory over our suffering, divine help over our weakness, and security in the love of God over all opposition. God has defeated death and all its friends. Let's find out how.
