Advent in the Prophets

The Christian church has been marking the beginning of a new spiritual year by practicing some version of Advent (meaning "coming" or "arrival") since around 500AD. The heart of Advent is making space for the longing and the waiting upon God to put all of this mess right. This year, we'll be studying four passages from the ancient Hebrew prophetic books as they awaited the first coming of the Messiah to see what we can learn as we, too, wait for His second coming.
