FOCUS Furniture Giveaway for International Students

You can share God’s love with new international students and visiting scholars by donating household items you no longer need to FOCUS*. You may bring items to The Well Community Church (4340 N Lombard St.) between the hours of 8AM and 3PM on Monday, September 14th, Tuesday, September 15th and Wednesday, September 16th, as well as 8AM and 8PM on Thursday, September 17th.

Donate only SMALL dorm-sized furniture, sheets, blankets, comforters, miscellaneous kitchen items (pots and pans, microwave-safe tableware, etc…). Items should be in useable, full-functioning condition. Mattresses, cushioned/upholstered items, and clothing will NOT BE ACCEPTED (per PSU Housing and Residence Life policy).

FRIDAY, September 18th: beginning at 10AM, we will begin setting things up in the church’s gymnasium. If you like garage sales, have a knack for organizing things, or simply have a desire to help with this ministry, we can use your help on this day!

SATURDAY, September 19th: From 9:00AM until around Noon is the actual GIVEAWAY. We

will need lots of cars, pick-ups, vans and trailers to help transport students from the FOCUS

meeting place on campus between 9am and 930am to the church, then back to their individual

dorm or apartment building with their newfound treasures. Consider this a great opportunity to

start a friendship where you exchange phone numbers, email addresses, and other methods of

communicating with them in the weeks and months to follow.
