Creative Showcase 3/7

Updated: Jan 18

Door of Hope Northeast will be hosting our second annual Creative Showcase on the evening of Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 4:00-7:45pm. We will once again be creating space to showcase the creativity of God through a variety of the artistic gifts of many folks in our church community through a gallery, live performances, and print. Whether you plan to volunteer, submit a creative piece, or just soak up all the great art, this is a chance to build deeper, more meaningful connections at Door of Hope Northeast and celebrate the creativity of God in and through one another. Note that once again this event is not open to the public and is for those who are actively involved at Door of Hope Northeast. However, we are also hosting a Creative Showcase Public Gallery on March 8 directly following our Sunday service that is open to all -- invite your friends and family and neighbors!

Art Submissions

The theme for this year’s showcase will be “…as in heaven, so on earth...” Pieces do not have to be explicitly tied to the theme, but it may help guide your selection of an old piece or creation of a new one. Anyone ages 12 and up can submit a piece for consideration (we will have a display set up for younger children to hang visual art on the day, but they won't need to submit for approval). Not every piece that is submitted will necessarily be able to be included. This is once again a community event for the Door of Hope Northeast, so we will only be considering submissions from people who are part of our church. All art to be considered for inclusion can be submitted in concept between now and February 9 and then the final piece will need to be submitted by February 23rd. Artists can find more detailed submission criteria and share your intent to submit now at this link!

Volunteering

To make the event go smoothly, we will need a number of volunteers to help with room setup and teardown, food and coffee preparation, art display, and program design. To volunteer, please email Rachael Price (rachael@doorofhopepdx.org). Thank you for considering!

Childcare

The environment for the showcase will be best suited to adults and students ages 12 and up. We will be providing childcare for Door of Hope Northeast families for ages 3-11 with dinner provided. Parents must RSVP for their children by February 23rd to help us plan for the evening. You can RSVP for your kids now at this link.

Additional details will be added here as they come together. But for now now, mark your calendars for the 3/7 and start letting us know how you might want to be involved!
