Community Groups

The biblical vision for the church is one of life lived together. The church community is described as a “fellowship” (Acts 2:42), as a single “body” comprised of many members (1 Corinthians 12:1114), and as a “family” (Mark 10:29-30). Community Groups are the primary way we try to get our people in close enough proximity to one another to make this vision a reality. We have Community Groups to know and experience Jesus Christ, and to experience Him together.
At Northeast, our Community Groups are small groups (usually between 10-18 people) that meet weekly in homes across Portland to build relationships, eat together, pray, and discuss the Scriptures. They're an essential way we gather in more intimate communities to know and be known, to love and serve one another, in hopes that the relationships formed there will spill out beyond the formal group meetings into the spaces of everyday life. In many ways these groups are the backbone of our church. Our Community Groups re-shuffle each year, launching in September and ending in early May.
